A bespoke master suite
We recently completed the bespoke design of an impressive new master suite at a private home. Everything was carried out in-house from our base in Poole, from creating the initial plans to manufacture and installation. The wall panelling is a real feature in the room and the walk in dressing room makes for a versatile and practical space.
The client came to us looking for a bespoke design for their master bedroom. Their influences were the Scandi / Japandi look, with a relaxed, soft pallet of natural materials. We selected just two simple finishes that would compliment other colours and textures being added elsewhere within the bedroom.
We used a white washed, oak timber for the feature and impact pieces within the room, like the ribbed timber headboard. This was designed to have a very slight shadow gap around the angled ceiling. This wall panelling creates a cosy feel and is asthetically pleasing in contrast to the bland white painted wall which was there previously, with no definition to locate the bed within the large bedroom.
The dressing mirror is a main focal future within the dressing room area. This was manufactured with a bevelled frame and in solid oak. The bevelled frame is to tilt the LED lighting directly on the person for optimum lighting, either for dressing in the evening or applying makeup.
The island drawer units, back to back, act as a great extra overspill for folded items of clothing as well as a display and feature element within the room. It has an open display section with two tops, oak on the lower top and a 12mm smoked glass for the upper one.
We selected a white washed, real oak timber and white fingerprintless matt lacquer for the larger surface areas like the wardrobe doors. These angled ceiling storage units are manufactured from white lacquer and are designed to sink back within the angle of the ceiling and walls so as not to dominate on both sides and make the room feel enclosed. The glass-fronted wardrobe was designed to create an uplifting contrast as a feature unit, showing off pieces of clothing that are lovely to have on display.
